Fredericksburg Art Guild's First Friday--January 7, 2011
Activities feature the opening reception for the "Who Knew" art exhibit and the January "Artist of the Month" exhibition.
Who Knew" is a juried art show honoring the students of Truby Hardin. The opening reception is First Friday - January 7th - 4 - 8 pm.. Truby Hardin has been teaching art and painting since 1972. Upon her recent retirement from Kerr County, Truby has been teaching beginning oil painting at the Fredericksburg Art Guild.
The January "Artist of the Month" features the abstract expressionist oil paintings of Suzuanne Fairbanks Mohart. Suzanne graduated from Kansas State University with a major in art. She has participated in art exhibits from Cambridge, Massachusetts to Miami, Florida. Suzanne curently lives in Fredericksburg and is a member of the Fredericksburg Art Guild, Die Kunstler and the Kerrville Art Club. Her work has won numerous awards over the years and is in private collections.
The Fredericksburg Art Guild represents 30 Hill Country Artists and exhibits fine art, jewerly, sculpture, photography, stained glass and more.
The Guild's hours are 10 am to 4 pm - open until 8 pm on the First Friday of each month. The Guild is closed on Tuesdays. The Fredericksburg Art Guild is located behind the Minitz Museum at 308 E. Austin St. Ample free parking is available behind the Convention and Visitors' Center.
