"Amp up the Color" featuring Donna Lafferty at Artisans

Opening Reception Friday, April 1st 5:00 pm ~ 8 :00 pm Artisans at Rocky Hill proudly presents "Amp up the Color", an art show featuring the work of Donna Lafferty of Fredericksburg. Donnas' latest work will include an amazing array of fabulously fun acrylic paintings depicting bluebonnets, skies, horses and more! We are also excited to present her latest painting technique referred to as "original gouache (opaque watercolor)". The presentation of Donnas' most recent works will debut during an opening reception at Artisans on Friday, April 1st at 5:00 pm during First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg. The show will remain in place through Saturday, April 16th. Wines by Torre di Pietra will be served along with cheeses from the Amish Market. Donna will demonstrate her talent on Saturday, April 2nd from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Donna explains "Realism is reinvented" in my eye-catching paintings, by using a happy twist of design and color that creates a bridge between reality and imagination. Bold hues and layering techniques make the paintings resonate with color vibration. The acrylic paintings are based on familiar and casual objects that are simplified in their shapes, but complex in color theory." Inspiration of Donnas' nature compositions comes from enjoyment of the simple sights and sounds of the Earth, with a desire to portray elements that have universal meaning. The line of playful expressionist paintings springs from a craving for rhythmic design and color experimentation.
