Fredericksburg Art Guild

Fredericksburg Art Guild's First Friday ~ August 5 ~ features the Annual All Member Show ~ "Our Gardens, Real and Imagined". Guild members are local Hill Country artists and their work includes paintings, sculpture, jewelry and ceramics. The exhibit is open through August 28, 2011.
Beth Hughes is featured as the August Artist of the Month. Beth has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and has done independent studies with many well known artists while developing her own unique style. Beth works primarily with water media; watercolor, gouache, acrylic and water soluble pencils. She also works with printmaking techniques using oil based inks to create monotypes. Beth Hughes will show a group of paintings that reflect the influence of her travels in the Mediterranean. They contain references to her memories and impressions of the sea, the people, and the rich history of that area.
The Fredericksburg Art Guild represents 30 Hill Country artists and exhibits fine art, jewelry, sculpture, photography, stained glass and more.
The Guild's hours are 10 am to 4 pm ~ open until 8 pm on the First Friday of every month. The Guild is closed on Tuesdays. The Fredericksburg Art Guild is located behind the Nimitz Museum at 308 E. Austin Street. Ample, free parking is available behind the Convention and Visitor's Center.

The Fredericksburg Art Guild is a nonprofil organization that receives financial support from the City of Fredericksburg Hotel/Motel Tax Fund and an annual fund from Pedernales Creative Arts and Alliance/OktoberFest.
